What is DigestMax?
DigestMax is a premium dietary enzyme blend that provides high quality ingredients such as Protease, Lipase, Amylase, Papain, Bromelain, Lactase, Amyloglucosidase and D-Galactose.
This unique combination of enzymes has been carefully created to provide you with a convenient way to increase your intake of these substances.
What is in this dietary enzyme formulation?
Protease: Protease (also known as a proteolytic enzyme, peptidase or proteinase) is a type of enzyme that functions mainly to help digest different kinds of proteins.
Lactase: Lactase is a digestive enzyme which is required for the breakdown of the milk sugar lactose which can be found in milk and dairy products. Lactose intolerance is when the body is unable to digest lactose properly due to a lack of the enzyme lactase.
Bromelain: Bromelain is composed of a mixture of different protein-digesting enzymes that are naturally found in very high concentrations in pineapples. Bromelain used to be used medicinally to help reduce swelling and inflammation after surgeries, but today it is popularly used in supplements.
Amylase: Amylase is an enzyme that helps digest carbohydrates. It is made in the pancreas and the glands that make saliva. When the pancreas is diseased or inflamed, amylase releases into the blood.
Papain: Papain breaks down tough meat fibres, and has been used for thousands of years to tenderise meat eaten in its native South America. Meat tenderisers in powder form with papain as an active component are widely sold.
Lipase: Lipase is an enzyme the body uses to break down fats in food so they can be absorbed in the intestines. People with cystic fibrosis, Crohn disease, and celiac disease may not have enough lipase to get the nutrition they need from food.
